Carousel Books
A carousel book is a type of pop-up book that opens out in a circular, 360-degree format, resembling a carousel or star shape when fully opened. Each page is attached to the next at the edges, allowing the book to stand on its own and display multiple scenes simultaneously. Often used for storytelling or decorative purposes, carousel books are popular for children's books and artistic presentations due to their visually engaging, three-dimensional structure.
The Story of the Flowers
While reading the original English translation of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen, I was intrigued by a section in the story where a little girl goes walking through a flower garden asking the flowers if they can help her. None of the flowers answers her question. Instead they each tell their own story. Each one is like a poem inspired by the flower. These stories inspired the 6 illustrations I used not only for this project, but in The Snow Queen book I illustrated available through this website.

Make Your Own Carousel Book
When I was researching to make my carousel book, I had to look in many different places for information. With that in mind I put together several videos that include most of what I learned in one place for others that want to make their own. I have also included a link to download the first section of my book The Story of the Flowers to help you see exactly how they fit together.
